guess what? grandpa said "I have a better idea. the kid that screwed it all up came to grandpa complaining that the computer wasn't any good now. I looked at it, and decided it was easier to do a reinstall than try to figure out what the kid did.Īfter that, we locked it down, and left a Guest Account on it for the grand-kids to use. a grand-kid came in one day and installed a whole bunch of stuff on it, and it bombed. He has not had any problems with any of them, except for one. He boots them up, does what he needs to do, and shuts them down. He has 4 desktop WinXP computers running, for his business. Just using it as a base for another application, it won't be online 24/7 anyway.Īnd quite honestly, the hackers aren't looking for WinXP anymore, and they surely aren't trying to search for every PC on the planet.
I have WinXP installed in a VM, and I did not, and will not, try to apply any of the updates for it.
